On November 9th, 2021, Howard's Men's Basketball team took on District of Columbia (UDC) in their season opening game at Burr Gymnasium. In an intense game, Howard came out ready to win making it very difficult for UDC to come back and score. Leading scorer, Elijah Hawtkins, came ready to play as he showcased his ability to dominate the court breaking UDC's full court press and scored a total of 23 points. Howard's Women’s Volleyball team went against Delaware State in their home opener and Conference opener game. Students wore all black in support of the game and packed the seats of Burr.
